Barbara resides in Westport with her husband, Jon, and daughters, Melissa and Kristen. When not working with clients, Barbara enjoys reading, antiquing, boating, tennis, pilates, skiing and of course, precious family time.

“Due to relocation, we sadly made the decision to depart Westport. We knew we were going to be going in to a sluggish market, so we needed some advice and Barbara came in, sat down with us and gave us the hard facts. We listened to her and did everything she said, and guess what, we had an offer on our house in 4 days! That was not what we were expecting in a sluggish market – but, with her advice and some updating and staging, we were well poised to hit the market putting our best foot forward. “Having been a long time residents of Westport we were familiar with the ups and downs of the market but hadn’t realized the market had weaken and become more sluggish in the intervening 9 months since our initial meeting with LJ (Barbara’s partner). Barbara’s analysis of the current market was very thorough and while disappointing from a pricing perspective it clearly demonstrated her grasp and knowledge of the market fundamentals. Recognizing that we wanted a quick sale her rationale and recommendations in terms of timing, staging and pricing were spot on as we received 3 offers at the full asking price four days after the house was put on the market. This was the first time we had sold any kind of real estate and somewhat complicating the process was our physical absence from Westport during this period. My husband and I began our house search while I was 4 months pregnant so needless to say the pressure of time was a big factor in our process. We also had a 2 year old daughter so our time to view homes was limited. We came to Barbara with a modest budget but a long wish list of items and she was so fantastic and patient with us as we looked at many, many homes to find the right one for our growing family. She was open to come to our home after bedtime and chat with us about the home buying process as we were first time home buyers. When we did find a house we liked Barbara worked tirelessly for us to make sure we got a good deal that fit our budget. She negotiated wonderful terms for us and helped to make sure that the house we moved into was safe and everything on the inspection report that was of major concern was addressed and paid for by the sellers. Updated Summer 2017.. Well, we did move again. This time we wanted to buy, and once again we called Barbara. She found us the perfect home. We wanted a place that would be an inviting home for our kids to grow up in that had been lovingly maintained without sacrificing character, and would be a good investment. Barbara came through with flying colors. But what was most helpful? As with any new home, we had things we wanted to do to our new home, ways to put our stamp on it and make it ours. After the sale was closed and she could have walked away, Barbara stayed right with us, finding us the right contractors to give our home the flair we loved, without charging us an arm and leg, or invading our new home forever. That is what it means to go above and beyond.”
“My wife and I have bought and sold homes in Connecticut five times and without doubt Barbara is the most effective, energetic and competent realtor we’ve ever dealt with. During our last sale we needed every one of those skills. Our house was on the market for over two years. On a recommendation from a close friend we asked Barbara to evaluate the house, suggest a course of action and help us implement it. Within 24 hours she provided a thorough and thoughtful report which we followed to a tee. Within 7 days we had an offer. The buyers were difficult throughout the process but Barbara worked with their broker to move along the inspection, production of appropriate legal documents and final closing date. She attended the house inspection and when the buyers suggested one of our flus was missing and the septic tank needed to be replaced, she dispatched her husband to check the flu (it was there) and engaged a second inspector for the septic tank (it was not cracked and did not need to be replaced.)
